Located in a unique romantic setting, the island's church hosts a collection of folk art entitled "Slovak Traditional Folk Sculpture and Painting".
The church, a former dominant feature of the inundated village Slanica, originally built as a Baroque chapel (1769- 1776), adjusted in 1843 in the Neo-Classicist style, with remains of calvary little chapels, was adapted in 1968-1971 as an exhibition hall with a floor space.
Passenger service to and from the island is ensured by a ferry-boat of the Orava Gallery from the port at Slanická Osada, or by a boat from a quay near the pension Kormorán.
